"Ethical Issues" Workshop Offered by FGCU Florida Institute of Government
3/19/2001

FORT MYERS, FL - All levels of government employees are invited to attend a one-day workshop "Ethical Issues in the Workplace" presented by the Florida Institute of Government at Florida Gulf Coast University from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 21. The workshop will be at the Center for Professional Development at Edison Community College.

Dr. David Robinson, president of Edison Community College from 1965 to 1991 will instruct the course. The workshop will address the decisions and challenges brought about by rapid changes in technology, increased competition and the constant struggle of doing more with less. Attendees will discuss the definition and role of ethics in today's organization, strategies for developing ethical behavior, issues of values and responsibility, and how to balance personal and professional ethics.

The central purpose of the Institute is to assist state and local government officials and employees in improving their skills in public administration and management through training, technical assistance and applied research. As an accredited comprehensive public university, FGCU addresses the higher educational needs of Southwest Florida and provides a learning-centered environment that offers high quality educational opportunities for the general public, such as administratively hosting the Institute.

For more information, contact Joanne Hartke in the FGCU College of Professional Studies at (941) 590-7815. Registration for the workshop is $44.
