Florida Gulf Coast University Welcomes International Students
Over 40 countries will be represented when Florida Gulf Coast University welcomes international students to FGCU and southwest Florida at a reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7 at FGCU Howard Hall Room 111.
This is the fourth International Reception on campus. This year there are over 60 international students, the largest so far, doubled over the last few years. Some of the countries represented at FGCU include Canada, Germany, Turkey, Sweden, France, Ecuador, Sri Lanka and more. These students bring to the FGCU faculty, staff and student body and the southwest Florida community a greater connection to the world.
Co-sponsored by the Office of Multi Access Services (Division of Student Services) and FGCU International Club, the students will be welcomed by President Merwin, Provost Brad Bartel, Student Government Association president Magali Solimano and International Club president Tina Kaestner who will participate in the program. The public is invited to attend to make these students feel comfortable and welcome to southwest Florida.
