Arts and Sciences Convocation Honors 33 Graduates at FGCU Thursday
FORT MYERS, FL - The College of Arts and Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University will honor 33 graduates at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 in the Whitaker Hall Sprint Room during its fall student convocation. Honorees will receive degrees during fall commencement exercises later this month.
Graduates and their families are invited to attend, along with CAS faculty. Faculty members will recognize the honored students.
“The agenda includes recognition of the graduates by a faculty member in their major area of study,” associate dean Donna Price-Henry said. “Typically, the faculty member who mentored the student through their senior project speaks. We will then have a reception so that graduates will have the opportunity to introduce their families to the CAS faculty.”
FGCU’s fall commencement is 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16 at TECO Arena. Over 230 students will graduate. Chairman of the FGCU Board of Trustees Scott F. Lutgert will deliver the commencement address to graduates and over 2,000 family members and guests. President William C. Merwin will confer degrees.
