FGCU Intern Volunteers Three Weeks at Ground Zero, FGCU Helps Get Her There

Florida Gulf Coast University student Anna-Marie Greenfield, human services major from Cape Coral, spent three weeks at Ground Zero in New York over Christmas break and FGCU helped to get her there. Greenfield, an FGCU intern with the American Red Cross in Fort Myers, was asked to volunteer on Christmas Eve. The Red Cross offered to pay all related travel expenses, but Greenfield faced a loss of income from her job. Greenfield’s story reached President William C. Merwin and her plight moved him to give $500 to help replace her income so she could make the volunteer trip. For more information, contact Greenfield at (941) 574-3764.
