FORT MYERS, FL - The Naples Financial Analysts Society will award scholarships to Alan Eatros, finance senior from Marshall, Minn., and Magali Solimano, finance junior from Pensacola, during the NFAS monthly meeting at noon Tuesday, May 14 in the Whitaker Hall Sprint Room at Florida Gulf Coast University.
A written essay submitted by each applicant, personal interview and scholarship were the selection criteria the NFAS used in judging the awards.
Last year, the NFAS created the FGCU scholarships to help identify, assist and reward motivated and deserving finance majors who are concentrating in investment studies. Recipients are required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.00.
The NFAS is a member chapter of the Association for Investment Management and Research, a worldwide organization that includes more than 47,000 investment professionals from 98 countries. It provides leadership in investment education, professional standards and advocacy programs including the development and administration of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
