Cancer Survivors Invited to Yoga, Meditation Workshop
FORT MYERS, FL - The Kleist Health Education Center at Florida Gulf Coast University invites cancer survivors, their supporters, family and friends to participate in a yoga and meditation workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 in Howard Hall.
Participants will spend the morning exploring the healing connection of body, mind and spirit, and learning how yoga and meditation can compliment traditional medical treatment. Attendees will experience simple breath work, gentle movement and basic meditation techniques that enhance life.
Workshop instructor is founder and director of Fort Myers-based Joyful Yoga, June Denison. As a national teacher, retreat leader and author, Denison presents yoga and meditation as practical tools for anyone looking for physical fitness, stress reduction, better overall health and peace of mind.
She is the author of the book by the same name, Joyful Yoga, plus two audio recordings Inner Power, Inner Peace and Meditations that Fit Your Life.
A Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher and meditation instructor, Denison is certified by the American Aerobic Association International and the International Sport Medicine Association. She and her staff are dedicated to offering yoga, meditation and Reiki extensively across Southwest Florida.
Workshop registration is $30 and benefits the nonprofit Kleist Health Education Center.
