HALO Coalition, Florida Department of Elder Affairs Sponsor Interdependency Exposition April 4-5
FORT MYERS, FL - Building planners and healthcare employees in the assisted living industry, as well as people and families planning long-term elder care, are invited to attend the Housing and Assistive Lifestyle Opportunities, or HALO, EXPO April 4 and 5 in Alico Arena at Florida Gulf Coast University to learn more about healthy lifestyle issues and interdependency through exhibits, seminars and demonstrations.
“This Expo will bring the community together around issues that affect us all, and especially our elders,” director of the FGCU Center for Assisted Living Innovation Gary Kluckhuhn said.
“There will be exhibits, seminars and demonstrations supporting our motto, ‘Live the life you want, where you want’,” Kluckhuhn said.
One feature of the HALO EXPO will be the pinnacle of a campaign launched last month to declare Southwest Florida’s support of the Department of Elder Affairs’ “Communities for a Lifetime” initiative. Kluckhuhn says if a substantial consensus is assembled, he will announce the region’s commitment in a nationally broadcast celebration during the two-day event.
The FGCU Center for Assisted Living Innovation, the HALO Coalition and the Department of Elder Affairs are collaborating to produce the HALO EXPO.
