Children's Summer Camp Closes Friday with 'Human Game of Life' for Families, Friends
6/23/2003

FORT MYERS, FL - "The Money Game" children's summer camp will culminate Friday, June 27 with The Money Game Theme Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Florida Gulf Coast University Student Union.
The theme park will take families and friends through an interactive human game of life that was designed by the campers. Participants can play the race track, get a makeover, try miniature golf, compete in arcades, purchase ice cream or stop by the many shops.
Campers earn a living, invest, spend or borrow money, play on rides and have a chance to retire with money in their wallets.
Success is measured by the business profits achieved, taxes donated to a charity, and real money the children keep.
The annual summer camp teaches children and teens how to work in teams to run a business.
"The Money Game" is offered through the FGCU Wachovia Consortium for Consumer and Financial Education, which supports educational events for seniors, children and web-based education designed to enhance consumer literacy and the financial health of citizens.
The Collier County Education Foundation and the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools Inc. co-sponsor the camp with Wachovia, McDonald's, Wal-Mart and Miromar.
Tickets to the theme park are $10. All profits go to children attending the summer camp.
For more information, contact camp co-director Deanna Burgess at (239) 590-7341, (239) 209-9123 or visit the camp web site at: .
