FGCU Invites Community to One Planet Earth Fest '05
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public to One Planet Earth Fest '05, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 12 on the Student Union green to highlight several FGCU and local conservation organizations.
Organizations with display tables for information include ECHO, Conservancy of South West Florida, Calusa Nature Center, University Environment Club, Babcock Ranch, Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve, Friends of the Slough, Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, Caloosahatchee River Citizens Association, Responsible Growth Management Coalition, All Native Garden Center, Toyota & Honda, and Power of One Animal Rights Club.
Acoustic guitar presentations include Sarah Watts and Jeff Key, Kraig Kenning, and Andrew Grivjack. Local health food stores provide free food and animals in rehabilitation are on display.
Speakers include Dumisani Nyomi from Zimbabwe, FGCU environmental professor Howard Fitch, an ECHO intern, Larry Stuart from FPL and Brenda Brooks-Solveson about the Babcock Ranch.
One Planet Earth Fest '05 is sponsored by the University Environment Club, Power of One Animal Rights Club, and the Center for Environmental and Sustainability Education.
