SBDC Hires Certified Business Analyst for New FGCU Cape Coral Center
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Small Business Development Center announces the appointment of Barbara G. Riordan of James City, Fla., to the position of Certified Business Analyst at the new FGCU Cape Coral Office, 1020 Cultural Park Blvd. Unit 3, to provide leadership in SBDC programs and services.
Riordan has several years of experience working with WomenVenture, a nonprofit organization in St. Paul, Minn., where she worked with clients starting or building their businesses as well as teaching a wide variety of business classes.
Riordan has a strong corporate background. Previously, she worked for several foodservice companies including the Pillsbury Company, General Mills and Land O' Lakes, as well as her own consulting firm.
In her FGCU SBDC job, Riordan will work closely with local lenders, maintain a presence on several committees and facilitate educational programs and training.
Riordan earned a Master of Science in hotel, restaurant and travel administration in 1985 and a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1981, both from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
The SBDC at the new FGCU Cape Coral Center offers free confidential counseling to small businesses relating to launching a new business or growing an existing one.
Areas of counseling may include marketing, advertising and human resource issues, as well as assisting small businesses in the loan process.
