FGCU Hosts Public Seminar Tomorrow to Discuss Adeno Associated Virus as a Vector for Gene Therapy

FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Biotechnology Seminar Series invites members of the public, healthcare community and media to "Adeno Associated Virus as a Vector for Gene Therapy" 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7 in Whitaker Hall 129.

The free seminar features speaker Kenneth Berns, director of the Genetics Institute, professor of molecular genetics and microbiology, and professor of pediatrics at the University of Florida.

Berns received an A.B. Degree in biology, a Ph.D. in biochemistry and an M.D. from The Johns Hopkins University. He has held faculty or executive administrative positions at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the Cornell University Medical College, the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and the University of Florida.
