FGCU Community Raises More Than $10,000 During MS Walk
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University raised more than $10,000 toward the Lee County Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society March 12 at Lakes Park during the organization's MS Walk, an annual fundraiser that brought in more than $50 million last year to help find a cure for the disease. March 13-17 is National MS Week.
The Lee County event brought in approximately $35,000 this year, up from $32,000 last year.
President William C. Merwin was an honorary chair of the event and director of Planned Giving Peter Lefferts was FGCU's captain. More than 100 faculty, staff and students registered to participate.
