FGCU Invites Public, Media to Second Annual 'Celebration of Excellence'
to Highlight Undergraduate Research
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University invites the public and media to attend the second annual "Celebration of Excellence" hosted by the College of Education and the Whitaker Center for Science, Mathematics and Technology Education to highlight undergraduate research at FGCU, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1 in 129 Whitaker Hall.
The event celebrates the efforts and accomplishments of undergraduate students engaged in research, and increases the public's awareness on research activities at FGCU.
Undergraduate students in the Departments of Biological Sciences, Marine and Ecological Sciences, Physical Science and Mathematics, and Social and Behavioral Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, and the School of Engineering present their research activities through poster exhibits during the event.
One of the Whitaker Center's goals is to provide students opportunities to engage in meaningful science, technology, engineering, mathematics and educational research experiences.
The Whitaker Center hopes to provide further support to undergraduate research activities through undergraduate research scholarships.
