FGCU Sponsors Southwest Florida Chinese Language School; Open House Aug. 18
FORT MYERS, FL - The Institute for Chinese Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University sponsors an open house for persons interested in participating in the second semester of the Southwest Florida Chinese Language School 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 in room 115 Academic Building III.
Classes will be held Saturday mornings Aug. 25 through Dec. 8 in Academic Building III. Classes follow the University's semester schedule. Four to five classes will run concurrently each Saturday depending upon demand and will be segmented according to age and/or existing proficiency in Mandarin. Each class will have its own experienced, native Chinese speaking teacher.
The Southwest Florida Chinese School is a non-profit organization devoted to making instruction in Chinese language and culture available to all interested persons, regardless of age or race. Instruction is available to adults, children and families.
The mission of the school is to promote understanding of and competence in Mandarin Chinese language and greater understanding of an appreciation for Chinese culture.
