FGCU Bower School of Music Presents
"Instrumental Faculty Recital" Sept. 13
FORT MYERS, FL - The Florida Gulf Coast University Bower School of Music features its adjunct music faculty in a recital at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Student Union ballroom.
Performing will be adjuncts Kirsten Bendixen Mahoney, horn; Aaron Hilbun, oboe; Troy Jones, percussion; William Larsen, flute; Tom May, cello; Patrick Neal, violin; Aaron McCalla, tuba; Cindy Scaruffi-Klispie, trumpet; Paul Votapek, clarinet; and collaborative pianist Julie Bearden Shaffer. Also collaborating as a pianist is Michael Baron, Bower School of Music associate professor of music and head of piano studies.
Bower School of Music adjuncts hold masters degrees in music from distinguished institutions such as Florida State University, Indiana University, Northwestern University, Ohio State University, The Cincinnati Conservatory - University of Cincinnati, University of Georgia, University of Miami and Yale University.
A variety of music will be performed including works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Brower, Boyce, Gomez and Poulenc. The recital is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
