Naples Residents Rick and Lori Borman Establish Endowed Fund at FGCU to Benefit Students with Financial Need
FORT MYERS, FL - Today, Rick and Lori Borman established the "Naples Town Hall Scholarship in honor of Barbara and Earle Borman Endowed Fund" at Florida Gulf Coast University. The proceeds from this endowment will be used to benefit FGCU students with financial need as determined by the scholarship committee, and will be awarded on an annual basis in perpetuity.
Rick and Lori Borman are owners and co-producers of Naples Town Hall Distinguished Speakers. Barbara and Earle Borman, Rick's parents, acquired ownership of the privately owned series in 2003 after serving as benefactors for nearly a decade. In May of this year the torch was passed, marking the beginning of the second quarter century of bringing world-renowned speakers to Southwest Florida. Naples Town Hall Distinguished Speakers has for many years experienced sold out audiences and received critical acclaim from the Naples community.
Naples Town Hall Distinguished Speakers sponsors a series of four lectures by outstanding national and international individuals from business, political or cultural disciplines. The lectures are subscription based and are scheduled between the months of January and April. FGCU is a sponsor of the series.
"Town Hall and FGCU share common goals and philosophies when it comes to the need for the continued growth of this dynamic educational institution. Access to education is one of the fundamental opportunities that helps make a real difference in the development of an individualís character. Earle and Barbara have always supported education and the Arts. This seemed like a fitting way for Lori and I to say thank you and create a gift that will endure," said Borman.
Rick and Lori Borman are members of the FGCU Alumni Friends group. Rick Borman is a new member of the FGCU College of Education Advisory Committee, and is the outgoing president of the Talking Heads Executive Producers Forum.
