FGCU's 22nd Commencement Graduates 1,128 Students May 3 at Germain Arena
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University expects to graduate 1,128 students during spring commencement exercises 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 3 at Germain Arena.
Tickets will be required of all guests. Participating graduates have been allocated tickets to provide to their guests. Members of the media will gain entry by presenting proper credentials.
FGCU Vice President of Student Affairs J. Michael Rollo delivers the commencement address to graduates and over 6,200 family members and guests.
FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw will confer bachelor's and master's degrees in the University's five academic colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education, Health Professions, Lutgert College of Business and Professional Studies. FGCU has conferred over 9,000 degrees since fall 1997. FGCU's 10,000th graduate will be acknowledged. The commencement ceremony lasts approximately two and one half hours.
Commencement ceremonies are held twice each year, in May and December. The May commencement is for graduating candidates who have completed or who plan to complete all degree requirements in the spring term. The December ceremony is for graduating candidates who have completed or who plan to complete all degree requirements in the summer or fall semesters.
For those unable to obtain tickets to the Germain event or who come without tickets, a viewing room will be provided on campus in the FGCU Student Union Ballroom.
