12/10/2009

FORT MYERS, FL - The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University is hosting a free "Frequently Asked Questions" workshop on starting a business, 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21, at the Downtown Fort Myers Public Library, located at 2050 Central Avenue, Fort Myers.

"We have seen a large increase of entrepreneurs who are pursuing the American dream of owning their own business," said Dan Regelski, executive director of the SBDC. "With the change in the business environment, more and more individuals are taking a look at the opportunity of starting a business, and this workshop will help them understand all the facets to look into before deciding to pursue their dream."

The workshop will provide answers to the most frequently asked questions on starting a business, and addresses the facts about capital investment, grants and loans.

For over 14 years the SBDC has been providing workshops and seminars in Southwest Florida to help small business owners make good business decisions as it pertains to their business.

"The more you know, the better your business will succeed. Our services are free and confidential," said Regelski.

There is no cost to attend the workshop, but reservations are encouraged and can be completed online at www.sbdcseminars.org or by calling the SBDC main office at (239) 745-3700. The SBDC is located in the Lutgert College of Business on FGCU campus.
