FGCU's Renaissance Academy Hosts "2010 Great Scholars Lecture Series," Feb. 27

FORT MYERS, FL - The Renaissance Academy of Florida Gulf Coast University announces its "2010 Great Scholars Lecture Series" with some of the country's foremost scholars and award-winning professors from Harvard University, Duquesne University, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as they come together to offer an enriching, challenging and interactive academic experience 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27 at Bentley Village, 704 Village Circle in North Naples.

The cost for the full-day program is $150 and features two morning lectures, lunch, and two afternoon lectures. An interactive Q&A session with the speakers will end the day. To register, call (239) 425-3272 or register online at https://RegisterRA.fgcu.edu.

The "2010 Great Scholars Lecture Series" features the following speakers and presentations: Randall Kennedy, Harvard Law School - Racial Politics in the Age of Obama; Maria Tatar, Harvard University - The Mysteries of Beauty and Horror in Fairy Tales; Zoe Trodd, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - Contemporary Slavery: Bondage and Abolition in the 21st Century; and James Houlik, Duquesne University - Music and the Mind: Neuroscience with a Beat.
