FGCU's Office of Continuing Education Presents Third Annual Au Pair Conference
FORT MYERS, FL - The Office of Continuing Education at Florida Gulf Coast University hosts the third annual "Cultural Immersion for Au Pairs" program, Thursday, July 14 through Sunday, July 17 at FGCU's main campus, with housing provided for out-of-area au pairs.
Au pairs are international students from around the world who live with American families, providing childcare while learning about the United States and the American way of life. As part of their work visas, au pairs must earn postsecondary education credits while in the U.S.
During an intensive weekend of study at FGCU, the au pairs will learn about traditional American values and beliefs, cultural adaptations, U.S. business and government through classroom instruction, discussions, projects, day trips and group projects.
The program is open to all au pairs currently working in the US. In past years, au pairs from a variety of countries including South Africa, Serbia, Germany, Brazil, Thailand, and France have attended.
