Florida Public Archaeology Network Invites Public to Clewiston Museum in Celebration of Archaeology Day, March 17
FORT MYERS, FL - The Southwest Regional Center of the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), hosted at Florida Gulf Coast University, invites the public to the Clewiston Museum at 109 Central Avenue in Clewiston, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 17 to celebrate Archaeology Day. The event is free and open to the public.
Clewiston Museum debuts the Archeo Cart, a traveling interactive exhibit and activity cart on maritime and general Florida archaeology produced by FPAN. This is a kid-friendly, family-oriented day of archaeology fun and discovery at the museum.
FPAN is a new direction for protection and preservation of cultural resources and for involving the public in the study of our past. Regional centers around Florida serve as clearinghouses for information; as places for learning, training and study; and as headquarters for public participation in archaeology and historic preservation.
