FGCU's Food Foresters to Install Primary Fruit Trees on Campus, March 23
FORT MYERS, FL - Florida Gulf Coast University's Food Foresters, a student organization responsible for FGCU's Food Forest, will install primary fruit trees at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 23 between the Kleist Health Education Building and Sugden Welcome Center. FGCU President Wilson G. Bradshaw will address guests.
Steve Cucura of Fruit Scape on Pine Island and leaders of Food Foresters will provide information on tree planting. The Food Forest Advisory Council will also participate in the tree planting.
The event marks a milestone for FGCU and its commitment to environmental sustainability, community partnerships, public service and civic responsibility. The FGCU Food Forest is a place for students, faculty, staff and community members to come together to learn about and move toward a more sustainable future, while creating an even stronger sense of community on campus.
