Leslie joined the Coastal Watershed Institute staff in the summer of 2008. She graduated in 2007 with a BS in Biotechnology from FGCU, where her research included a population study of Melaleuca quinquinervia, looking at the genetic differences between East and West Coast populations in South Florida. After graduation Lesli worked briefly at the Institute gaining experience in experiments and field work, then took time off to back-pack through Europe for six months, working on organic farms along the way. Lesli plans to attend graduate school at FGCU to work on her Master’s degree in Environmental Science.
