FGCU Paintball Wins Nationals! |
| Monday, April 16, 2012 - Captures Second National Title for Sport Clubs in 2012 |
FGCU's paintball club claimed the National Collegiate Paintball Association national championship on Sunday, April 16 with a 2-1 series victory over University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the Class AA title game.
The club earned 16 wins out of 21 games over two days, defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater during the championship matchup, held in Lakeland, Florida. The complete tournament schedule can be found on: http://paintball-players.org/scores/L2/E2139/schedule.html
The NCPA is home to over 200 teams in two divisions, with nearly 6,000 general members. Next year the Eagles will be moving up to Class A, a more competitive division, which has its championship game broadcast on Fox Sports. For more information on the league, visit www.ncpapaintball.com
