Platinum Sponsors

105.5 The Beat is the dominant party radio station in Southwest Florida. Their blend of mainstream Hip Hop music paired with great readio personalities has brought the station record setting ratings and an immense following.
As one of the few stations in the market that posess an outstanding call to action, their participation and support for Eaglepalooza has helped make this event one of the most sought after events to attend every year for FGCU students and the FGCU Community. 105.5 the Beat is excited to team up with FGCU Campus Recreation once again and give the students of FGCU a day to relax and enjoy entertainment that no other school organization in the county has ever done. FGCU will always have the Beat's support.

Best Buy Co., Inc. is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the 2008 FGCU EAGLEPALOOZA. As a Company, we are committed to the unique communities where we operate, and our Eaglepalooza sponsorship allows us to model the corporate citizenship we never take for granted. And while each community might have unique characteristics, cultures, and norms, there's one thing they all have in common: our future talent.
Our corporate citizenship aspirations focus on three important areas and guide daily decision-making across all of our brands and operations.
1. A global champion for human ingenuity and opportunity. Best Buy's more than 150,000 employees provide leadership for our industry, our customers, and our communities worldwide; but our employees' knowledge expands beyond technology choices in our stores. They show our customers that Best Buy and its employees are trustworthy, responsible, and committed to their communities.
2. A global advocate for consumers in the world of technology. By helping customers make responsible choices with technology and entertainment, Best Buy already delivers consumer electronics products and services to more people than any other company in the world. We advocate on behalf of our customers, as well. For example, we were the first retailer to voluntarily stop selling analog televisions after Congress passed the law requiring all television signals to change to digital in February 2009; we've raised game rating-system awareness; we've partnered with the Entertainment Software Rating Board, National Institute on Media and the Family and with Microsoft(tm) to help families foster dialog about gaming and entertainment.
3. Environmentally and socially accountable for all brands and business operations worldwide. Best Buy has a responsibility to help consumers make smart decisions about the environmental impact of their Best Buy purchases. We want to show leadership when it comes to energy efficiency and recycling of e-waste. For example, our free in-store recycling kiosks now accept cell phones, rechargeable batteries, inkjet cartridges CDs, DVDs, PDAs, and smart phones. While there is some financial value in these programs, we use the funds they generate to advance other environmental efforts. Our 2008 EnergyStar employee training program earned Best Buy the EnergyStar Excellence in Appliance Retailing Award, and the training is now provided by the U.S. Department of Energy and the EPA as templates for use by other EnergyStar retailers. As our drive to be smarter and greener continues, we rely on the talents of our employees to continue to understand and meet the environmental needs of our customers.
