Amy is originally from Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  She completed her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration at Central Michigan University and worked for the University Recreation department as a graduate assistant.  After two years in the cold, Amy headed south to Texas which became her second home. She worked at the University of Texas for two years and then Sam Houston State University for 11 years; gaining great experience in Campus Recreation.  Before joining the team at FGCU, Amy worked for 4 ½ years at Mississippi University for Women, building a program and constructing the Stark Recreation Center.

Suzanne is a Michigan native where she attended Spring Arbor University. She graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Recreation Administration. She also served as the Women’s Intramural Director at SAU, beginning her passion for university recreation. Suzanne completed her Masters Degree in Recreation and Parks Administration at Central Michigan University while also serving as a Graduate Assistant for University Recreation. Prior to joining the FGCU Campus Recreation staff in August 2010, Suzanne worked at Mississippi University for Women for four years where she helped establish a campus recreation program and opened the Stark Recreation Center.

Chris comes from Tampa where he worked for Ironman prior to joining us here at FGCU Campus Recreation.  He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and earned his degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management with a concentration in Sports Management.  Chris brings valuable experience to our aquatics program after having served as the Aquatics Director for the City of Seminole, FL for five years.  Swing on by the FGCU Aquatics Center for a swim today!

Chad is originally from DeLand, Florida. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as an undergraduate where he studied business.  Through the course of his undergraduate studies he developed a passion for recreation and became involved in special events and facilities as a student employee.  He received his Master’s degree from Ole Miss in Parks & Recreation Management where he also served as a facilities graduate assistant for campus recreation. Emma is originally from Rochester, New York where she attended The College at Brockport, a State University of New York.  Following her passion for aquatics and programming, she received her Masters in Recreation and Leisure Services Management with a focus in Aquatics.  Emma is very active and has been playing Ice Hockey for 12 years.  Go Sabres!

Robbie is originally from Tennessee and a two time graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Sports Management and served as Fitness Graduate Assistant and Interim Facility Coordinator while at MTSU. Robbie then spent two years at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as Facility/Special Event Coordinator before becoming Assistant Director of Campus Recreation at Longwood University in Virginia for 4 1/2 years. While at Longwood, Robbie oversaw facilities and informal recreation before taking over the intramural and sport clubs programs. He then moved to the University of Maryland as Facility Manager for Cole Field House for a 1 1/2 years before joining the FGCU staff in June 2012.

Carl was born in Michigan but moved to Southwest Florida in 2001. He earned his bachelor's degree in communication from FGCU and also worked for FGCU Campus Recreation as an intramural supervisor and official. He then spent nearly two years in Savannah, Georgia working as an intramural sports graduate assistant at Armstrong Atlantic State University while earning his master's degree in Adult Education & Community Leadership. Carl loves to watch collegiate sporting events and has supported all of Dunk City's sports teams since day one. He was even a member of the first FGCU basketball pep band in 2003. Carl has a passion for intramural sports and special events and is excited to be working at his alma mater. 

Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator

Grant hails from the flat, landlocked state of Illinois. Rarely found indoors, Grant has his B.S and M.S. in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University, where he spent his graduate assistantship creating the Outdoor Pursuits program for WIU’s Campus Recreation program. Grant is a Level 1 kayak instructor with the American Canoe Association, a Wilderness First Responder, and owns two ukuleles. He has worked in Minnesota, Wyoming, and Massachusetts, and has held a cornucopia of jobs, from hauling canoes into Canada to firing a pumpkin cannon. Often seen in a hammock or canoe, Grant joined FGCU in October 2012.

Julia is a Michigan native and graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where she earned her degree in psychology. Having been very involved in sport clubs as an undergrad, Julia then decided to pursue her Master’s Degree in Sport Management at the University of Connecticut. She worked as a graduate assistant for UConn’s club sports program for two years, and remained an active member of the UConn running club during that time. Julia also serves on the Board for the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association, where she oversees special events as part of the membership unit.
