Adventure trips are planned and facilitated by student staff, with the guidence from our experienced Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator. The trips range from one day to several nights in Florida and out of state. Our trips have taken students Rock Climbing, Skydiving, White Water Rafting, Backpacking, Sea Kayaking, and much more. Who can go?
Only current FGCU Students/Faculty/Staff may attend Outdoor Pursuit trips. All of our trips are meant to be available for all skill levels and abilities, unless otherwise detailed in trip descriptions. Trips are first come, first serve with priority to students.
Each trip is different, but most include:
- All travel to and from the destination.
- All necessary outdoor equipment (if you don’t have your own) such as tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, etc.
- All activity, lodging and camping fees.
- OP Staff and/or contracted leaders to facilitate a safe adventure experience.
How do I register?
You can register online through our website by clicking the Registration button at the top of this page, or in person at the Waterfront Building. Please note that registration is first come, first serve with priority given to current FGCU students. Payment can be made by Eagle Dollars, check or cash. Attendance is required at the pre-trip meeting in the Waterfront Building, unless otherwise cleared by the Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator.
-Cancellation must be made at least two weeks (14 days) days prior to program/trip start date in order to receive a full refund. Otherwise 75% of the total trip cost will be deducted from the refund.
-Cancellations after the pre-trip meeting will NOT receive a refund. Exceptions may apply.
-Outdoor Pursuits staff reserves the right to cancel any trip or program at any time. Participants will receive a full refund for any trip cancelled by Outdoor Pursuits.
-Attendance is required at the pre-trip meeting in the Waterfront Building, unless otherwise cleared by the Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator.
-Participants will be placed in tent/cook groups, and will be required to purchase food to accommodate their group for the trip. Appropriate choices will be discussed at the pre-trip meeting.
-All trips will depart and return from the Waterfront Building.
-Trip departure times are dependent on the participants' schedules.
