General Rental Policies and Procedures     

  • Renters must present proper University Identification (Eagle ID) to rent any equipment
  • The Rental Fee may be paid by cash or check
  • All gear rentals requires a deposit.
    • Will accept cash, check, or *credit card (*using FGCU ID card transfer)
    • Deposit will be returned upon return of gear and passing of inspection.
  • Reservations may be made by in person or over the phone (239) 590 – 3963
  • Rental fees must be paid in full by the time of the reservation in order to take equipment.
  • Cancellations must be made during business hours, in person.  
  • Late Return Charges
    • $1.00 per item per day late
    • Late days only accrue during Outdoor Pursuits operation hours.
  • Absolutely NO SMOKING in or around equipment made of fabric (Tents, Sleeping Bags and Backpacks)
    • Renter will be assessed a cleaning fee for not adhering to this policy
  • A $5.00 cleaning fee will be assessed to equipment returned that is dirty or wet.
    • Renter must dry out tents, sleeping bags, and backpacks that get wet.
    • Renter must clean all pots and pans in the mess kit.

Boat Rental Policies and Procedures

  • Only current students, faculty, or staff may rent a boat for off campus use.
  • Renter must have adequate means of transporting the boat.
    • OP staff reserves the right to refuse a request based on inadequate transportation, prior experience, attitude and skill level of renter, and weather conditions.
  • Boat rental includes paddle(s), PFD(s), and straps.
    • Equipment will not be supplied for more than two persons per boat
  • Renter is responsible for all aspects of the boat(s) rented
    • Cleanliness, travel of, any damage, etc.
