Recreation Facilities & Programs

Aquatics Center

The Lee County/FGCU Aquatics Center features two outdoor pools, a 50 meter and 25 yard. Our 50 meter, 8-lane lap pool has a movable bulkhead that converts the pool into a 25 yard, 16-lane lap pool. The 25 yard pool features 8 lanes, and is used mostly as a recreational pool for lap swimming and swim lessons. The Aquatics Center is also the home of the FGCU Women’s Swimming & Diving team.

Auxiliary Gym

The Auxiliary Gym contains one basketball/volleyball court and is located on the second level of Alico Arena. This space must be reserved through Athletics, however Campus Recreation helps oversee the space for Intramurals, Sport Clubs, and informal recreation.

Eagle Challenge Course

Set amongst ten acres of green fields and pockets of pine uplands and oak hammocks, the Odyssey-II course features high and low elements, and the longest zip line on a college campus in Florida!  The ECC is our only off-campus facility, located at FGCU's Buckingham property: 5820 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers, 33905.

Recreation Field 1 and Recreation Field 2

We have approximately six acres of multi-purpose field space. Our largest field, Rec Field 1 is located within the main campus loop and is primarily used for Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, and Special Events. Rec Field 2 is our smaller field, located in South Village next to Osprey Hall.  Recreation Field #2 is currently closed for field maintenance, and will reopen in mid-October.

ROC (Recreation Outdoor Complex)

The ROC opened in January 2010 and is located adjacent to Alico Arena. The lighted, outdoor facility includes two basketball courts and two sand volleyball courts. Participants can checkout equipment for the ROC at the front desk in the Recreation Center with a valid Eagle ID.

Recreation Center

The 9,000 square foot Recreation Center includes the Group Fitness studio and the Strength & Conditioning room. Our Rec Center is comprised of 25 cardio training pieces including, treadmills, elliptical, upright & recumbent bikes, and rowing machines. The facility also features Matrix selectorized strength equipment, along with a free-weight area equipped with dumbbells and plate loaded strength training equipment.

SoVi Pool

Our newest facility, the South Village (SoVi) Pool is located adjacent to Osprey Hall.  The resort style pool has a zero-depth entry, and features a water volleyball area, large deck space, and a grilling area.  Although located with a Housing area, the pool is open to all current students, faculty, and staff.  Reservations requests for SoVi Pool will open on September 15, for event dates after October 1.

The Waterfront is located on campus within North Lake Village and offers a variety of activities including kayaks, paddleboards, sailboats, tubing, cornhole, swimming, or lying in the sun with friends.
