Admission Requirements
  • Students must meet with a college advisor to declare a minor and review the course requirements.
  • A grade of C or higher is required for all courses in the minor.
  • A minimum of 12 credit hours of the minor must be completed at FGCU.
  • Students desiring certification of a minor and designation on their academic transcript must verify that the minor is displayed on their Graduation Application.
Minor Requirements

Complete one of the following:

  • INR 2015 Global Studies (3)
  • INR 3003 Theories of International Relations (3)
  • SYG 2010 Social Problems (3)

Complete two from the following:

  • INR 3003 Theories of International Relations (3)*
  • INR 4303 American Foreign Policy (3)
  • INR 4703 International Political Economy (3)
  • INR 4926 Model UN Practicum (3)
  • POT 4514  Theories of Political Violence (3)
  • PUP 4013 Comparative Social Policy (3)
  • PUP 4206 International Enviro. Policy (3)
  • SYD 4020 Global Population (3)

Complete two from the following:

Regional and Global Environments

  • AFS 3251 African Environments (3)
  • ASN 3412 Asian Environments (3)
  • ISC 3145C Global Systems (3)
  • LAS 3007 Latin American Environments (3)
  • LAS 3022 Caribbean Environments (3)

Area Studies

TOTAL SEMESTER HOURS REQUIRED: 15 HRS

Transfer Notes and Acceptable Substitutes

Transfer credits will ordinarily be accepted from regionally accredited institutions and evaluated for appropriate credit toward requirements in the student's degree program.
