Dr. Sherie Brezina is the founding Director or the School of Resort & Hospitality Management at FGCU, accredited by the ACHPA in 2012. Dr. Brezina was instrumental in bringing the PGA Golf Management Program to FGCU in 2004. Prior work experience includes University of West Florida, University of New Haven, City of Tampa, national feasibility and management consulting for convention centers, convention bureaus, stadiums and work experience in hotels and restaurants.

Dr. Brezina has published journal articles and textbook chapters on resort management, spa management and hotel lodging. Her academic area of interest includes natural resource- based tourism and the conventions and meetings industry. She teaches hospitality courses and was actively involved in the development and design of Sugden Hall, a 37,000 square foot hospitality learning lab facility for RHM and PGA Golf Management majors at FGCU. She is a member of numerous professional hospitality and tourism organizations and serves on the Board of Moorings Park and the Island Inn of Sanibel.
