Member of LCOB Advisory Council
As executive director of the Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), Bob Ball directs the operation of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Page Field (FMY) in Fort Myers. During his administration, Ball has overseen the planning, funding, construction and move to a new $438-million terminal at Southwest Florida International Airport and led the renaissance of Page Field. Ball was recently elected to the board of directors for Airports Council International-North America for a 3-year term. He was appointed by FDOT to represent the Florida Airports Council (FAC) on the Florida Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) Leadership Committee.
The News-Press Media Group selected him as the 2012 Person of the Year, an award given to someone who has made a difference in the community and has an impact on the future of Southwest Florida. Ball is accredited by the American Association of Airport Executives. He currently serves on the Florida Gulf Coast University College of Business Advisory Council and on the advisory board to the School of Aeronautics for the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. where he earned his bachelor’s degree in air commerce/flight technology. He also holds a Private Pilot license
