Donald R. Schrotenboer

Don currently serves as President of Real Estate for Private Equity Group, LLC, a private equity fund that directs equity investments in land, operating businesses, land development, commercial property and residential master planned communities.

Previously, Don served as President of Alico Land Development, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alico, Inc. where he provided objective guidance in diversifying a portion of the company’s agricultural land holdings into income-producing real estate.

He was also Partner & VP of Gilkey in partnership with Dennis Gilkey, former CEO of Bonita Bay Group, which provides land development advisory services including site evaluation, entitlements strategies, market positioning, community master planning, and development coordination for large landowners who embrace the principles of sustainable development.

Don also served as VP & Director of Project Development for Ave Maria, a 5,000 acre new town and university in eastern Collier County, Florida overseeing the entitlement phase, including the Development of Regional Impact, Preliminary Developers Agreement, Stewardship Sending & Receiving Areas and Army Corps of Engineers Permits. He participated in the design standards for the community, site development, and programming of university facilities & management of horizontal and vertical construction. Ave Maria is the first development in Florida to utilize the Rural Lands Stewardship Area (RLSA) comprehensive plan overlay.
