Edward V. Staros was appointed VP and Managing Director of the Forbes Four-Star, AAA Five- Diamond Ritz-Carlton, Naples in October 1999, and moved to Naples from The Ritz-Carlton headquarters, where he served as the brand’s vice president of worldwide operations since 1992. In 2002, he oversaw the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples and is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and development of both luxury resorts.
Mr. Staros was the third employee of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., when it was established in 1983and is one of the company’s “founding fathers.” He was instrumental in creating the now-legendary Gold Standards which set the industry benchmark for product and service excellence.
Mr. Staros is a profound community leader, currently sitting on two advisory boards at Florida Gulf Coast University: the Lutgert College of Business Advisory Board and Resort & Hospitality Management Advisory Board. He is a founding sponsor of the Naples Winter Wine Festival and honorary trustee of the event which funds the Naples Children’s Education Foundation. Mr. Staros also sits on several local hospitality related boards and is a board member of the Florida affiliate of Fifth Third Bank.
Mr. Staros holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University’s School of Business, with a major in hospitality and minor in finance. He is married with two children and resides in Naples, Fla.
