Dan comes to FGCU from Stetson University College of Law where he taught advanced courses in Negotiation and Mediation. He has been a practicing attorney since 1976 focusing in environmental, administrative and water law. Dan’s publications are also in these areas, including such titles “Going Green: Business has seen the carrot and stick,” and “Tampa Bay Water Wars – Turning Lemons Into Lemonade.” Dan is a member of The Florida Bar; admitted to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals; member of the Environmental and Land Use Law Section and the Administrative Law Section of The Florida Bar; previous Co-Chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Mediation and Arbitration, and Environmental Law Sections; member of the Business Law Section, and past Vice Chair of the Eastern Water Resources Committee of the American Bar Association. He is rated "AV," the highest rating for a lawyer given by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, has been listed among Florida Trend’s “Legal Elite,” and in Florida Super Lawyers. He is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Aikido and has taught this martial art for over 30 years.
