Arianna S. Pinello is originally from Barcelona, Spain but spent most of her formative years (since the age of seven) in Hamburg, Germany. After graduating from high school in Germany, Arianna came to the United States on her own as an international college student. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy at the University of North Florida, Arianna became a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. She gained professional experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as a business assurance associate, and at Tupperware Corporate Headquarters as a senior internal auditor for international markets. Arianna then earned a Ph.D. in Accounting at The Florida State University. The dissertation Arianna completed at FSU was the recipient of the 2005 Outstanding Dissertation Award of the Accounting, Behavior and Organizations Section of the American Accounting Association. Before joining the faculty at Florida Gulf Coast University, Arianna was an Assistant Professor at Georgia State University. Her primary teaching area is in financial accounting and she also has experience teaching accounting information systems. Her research has been published in academic journals such as Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Research in Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, The CPA Journal, and Advances In Accounting. Arianna is tri-lingual and an active member of the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
