Welcome to the Cohen Center at Florida Gulf Coast University! The Cohen Center is the community hub for the entire Florida Gulf Coast University campus. From buying your books, school supplies, and dining; to student involvement and entertainment, the Cohen Center was designed to meet the campus community’s daily needs, while contributing to the overall college experience. It offers a variety of programs, activities, services, and facilities that represent a well-thought out plan for the vitality of the University. The Cohen Center provides a great atmosphere for students and other members of the campus community to unwind and de-stress through the various features offered within its’ friendly confines. Amenities located in the Cohen Center include: the FGCU Bookstore, food court, DVD rentals, vending, ATM service, comfortable seating and high-definition televisions airing the up-to-date national news, or the latest “big game.” Chick-Fil-A, Jamba Juice, Blu Sushi, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and the Home Zone are all conveniently located in the Cohen Center. Snacks and other refreshments are also available at the FGCU Bookstore and vending area. Whether you are looking for a place to eat, study, or to just simply relax, the Cohen Center provides a friendly environment conducive to all.
To encourage and maintain student involvement, FGCU is host to numerous student clubs and organizations. To ensure clubs operate smoothly, the Office of Student Involvement, Student Government and the Office of Greek Life are accessible in the Cohen Center. The Cohen Center also houses: Campus Reservations, the Division of Student Affairs, Career Services, Business Operations, and the office of Multi-Cultural Services, Please visit the Offices link for more information and the specific locations of these departments.
The aforementioned departments and FGCU community benefitted greatly through the University’s Cohen Center expansion project that was completed in November 2011. This project increased the Cohen Center from 53,000 square feet to almost 75,000 square feet. Renovations included the addition of: numerous office spaces, a Dean of Students suite, conference rooms, multi-purpose spaces, a student lounge with adjacent small meeting rooms, and a workspace, equipped with computers, that is designated for members of Registered Student Organizations.
