Wireless Networking

Please take a look at our wireless coverage map HERE to see the locations of WIFI hotspots on campus. You can identify buildings on campus that are WIFI enabled by locating the decal on the entrance door signifying the building has wireless access.

Who can use it?

• FGCU's public wireless network is available to all faculty, staff , students, and guests.

The use of the FGCU wireless network is governed by the universities acceptable use policy. Anyone who attempts to violate the acceptable use policy or uses the network for illegal or malicious purposes will be banned from using the network and the university police will be notified. The FGCU acceptable use policy can be found HERE.

How do I access the wireless network: Click to see wireless coverage map

• Your laptop or other device will need an 802.11-compatible wireless Ethernet adapter (also called Wi-Fi compliant)
  • Configure your Windows XP laptop
  • Configure your Macintosh laptop.

What can I do from the wireless network?

• From FGCU's public wireless network you can surf the web, check email, or access your corporate network via VPN. Access to FGCU's private network is restricted to authenticated users only. Staff and Faculty that wish to access the private network from their laptop will need to contact the FGCU Helpdesk for assistance.

• We are rapidly adding additional buildings to the campus wireless network. You can view the coverage map by clicking HERE. Below is a list of covered buildings as well as a list of buildings that will be covered.
