Remote Desktop via “myvpn.fgcu.edu”

Ensure your Computer is able to accept "Remote Desktop Connections"

1. On your work computer open up the computers properties by right clicking on "My Computer" and selecting "Properties".

 2. Select the "Remote" tab and check the box labeled "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer".

 3. Make note of the "Full Computer name", as it is s required later.

**You will need to adjust your power settings to make sure your computer does not goto "sleep". This is down by right clicking on my desktop,click on properties then selecting "Screen saver" tab and adjust power settings.**

To Connect:1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://myvpn.fgcu.edu

2. Enter your FGCU username and password

3. Upon successful login, you will be redirected to the main screen.
Note: Internet Explorer may ask you to install an Active X control published by Juniper Networks.  If this is the case please go ahead and allow the installation.

4. Locate the “Terminal Session” section and click on the icon the looks like a computer with a little plus icon next to it:

5. You will be brought to the “Add Terminal Services Session” screen:

6.Please fill in the following information:

    • Enter a meaningful name such as “My Work Desktop” as the “Bookmark Name:”
    • Enter your full computer name in the “Host” field.
    • Change the color depth to 32-bit  (True Color)
    • Select “Connected sound devices – Bring sound to local computer”
    • Click on “Add”

7.Click on the link that was added to your “Terminal Sessions” to connect to your desktop:

8.Your terminal service session should launch and you will be asked for your desktop.  This will once again use your FGCU username and password.

NOTE:
If this is the first time you are using this feature, a small download may pop up and may need to be installed.  If this is the case, please simply go through the appropriate prompts to install the Terminal Services client on your computer.
