Outlook AnyWhere provides a means of securely connecting Outlook 2007 to university servers using HTTPS instead of a VPN. This provides full featured access to your e-mail, calendar, contacts, and tasks. To use Outlook Anywhere you must have a copy of Microsoft Outlook installed on your PC.
Computing Services provides ONE free copy of Microsoft Office 2007 for Home use to each Faculty and Staff user. If you have not already done so, bring your Faculty/Staff ID to Computing Services in Howard Hall 228 to pick up your copy.
Procedure Steps
1. Click Start 
2. Open the Control Panel 
3. Click the mail icon.
4. Click the “Show Profiles” button.

5. Click the “Add…” button

6. Enter a name for the new Outlook profile in the New Profile box, and click OK.


7. Enter your Name, your E-mail Address, and your Password in the boxes provided.

8. Do not click the box that states “Manually configure server settings…

9. Click Next. Outlook will “Establish network connection.”

10. You will be prompted to enter your User name and Password.
- Enter your e-mail address for the username.
- Enter your password.
- Click OK.

Wait a moment until there are green check marks in front of
- Establish network connection
- Search for username@fgcu.edu server settings
- Log on to server

11.Click Finish.
Enter your password when prompted.
Click OK.
The password request box will say one of the following:
- “Connecting to FGCU-TIGER.primary.ad.fgcu.edu”
- “Connecting to FGCU-LEOPARD.primary.ad.fgcu.edu.”

Please wait while Outlook prepares the profile for first use.
Outlook will automatically download the contents of your e-mail, calendar, and contacts folders.

This may take a few minutes. Depending on the speed of your computer and your internet connection, Outlook may appear as though it is not responding. The window may turn white, and Task Manager may indicate that Outlook is not responding. If that happens, please wait patiently. The process will complete without intervention.
You will receive a pop-up in the lower right hand corner of your screen to notify you that Outlook is downloading your items.

When complete, the lower right corner of Outlook will have a message stating “All folders are up to date. Connected to Microsoft Exchange.”

Note: If you have multiple Outlook profiles on your computer, you will be prompted to choose a profile each time you open Outlook.

If you receive the following security prompt to “Allow this website to configure username@fgcu.edu server settings?” put a check in the box beside “Don’t ask me about this website again” and click the “Allow” button.
