Does FGCU's Computing Services provide any support for privately owned machines?
Support for personally owned computers is limited to assistance with configuring the computer to access FGCU’s network, assisting connecting to university resources, basic troubleshooting, and for students living on campus, anti-virus assistance. Where can I get help?
If you need assistance with your computer, printer or peripheral device, you may wish to consult the manufacturer. You might also check to see if your computer is still under its manufactures warranty. If your computer does not fall within a warranty, we suggest you contact a local repair center that has the appropriate experience or certification to make repairs.

Wireless Networking
Please take a look at our wireless coverage map HERE to see the locations of WIFI hotspots on campus. You can identify buildings on campus that are WIFI enabled by locating the decal on the entrance door signifying the building has wireless access.
Who can use it?
FGCU's public wireless network is available to all faculty, staff , students, and guests.
FGCU's public wireless network is an open wireless network. We encourage you to be mindful of what you are browsing and ensure that whatever you access is safe to transmit data unencrypted in the open environment.
The use of the FGCU wireless network is governed by the universities acceptable use policy. Anyone who attempts to violate the acceptable use policy or uses the network for illegal or malicious purposes will be banned from using the network and the university police will be notified. The FGCU acceptable use policy can be found HERE.

What can I do from the wireless network?
From FGCU's public wireless network you can surf the web, check email, or access your corporate network via VPN. Access to FGCU's private network is restricted to authenticated users only. Staff and Faculty that wish to access the private network from their laptop will need to contact the FGCU Helpdesk for assistance.
