The Americn Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by a Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross of Lee County has been serving Lee County residents for more than 83 years. In 2000, the Lee County Chapter assisted more than 16,000 Lee County residents and other persons with its traditional disaster resonse and preparedness education services, services to military members and their families, and Health and Safety Education.

Job Description:

Disaster Services - Respond to local disasters through our Disaster Action Teams (DAT). Also respond to large scale disasters in a wide variey of areas, such as Sheltering, Mass Care, Logistis, Client Casework, etc. Educate the public on how to prevent, prepare, and respond to emergencies through Community Disaster Education presentation. Free Disaster Training. Health and Safety - Instructor opportunities include First Aid, CPR, HIV/AIDS Education, Babysitter Training, Aquatics, Water Safety, and more. Armed Forces Emergency Services - Aid military personnel and their families, either through Red Cross finanical assistance or being insturmental in working on bringing a military person home when there is an emergency in the family. Volunteer Resources - Chance for volunteers to recruit other volunteers through the Community Outreach Program. Youth Services - Goals of the American Red Cross Youth Initiative is to create collaborations with youth organizations and other community groups that will unite the strengths of each and create a dynamic opportunity to invest in youth and communities. Registered Nurse/Student Nurse Program - Exciting volunteer opportunities to expand your professional horizons while filling your need to be of service.
