The Florida Department of Children and Families is the state social services agency covering child welfare (protective investigations and services, foster care, and adoption), public assistance, and services for disabled adults and persons with developmental disabilities. It also provides alcohol, drug abuse, and mental health services through contracts with community agencies.

Job Description:

Service Learning Job: 1. Monitor court ordered visitations between children in foster care and their biological families. 2. Provide transportation for children in foster care. 3. Child care for foster children at the state office while foster parents attend meeting. 4. Mentor foster child, especially teenagers. 5. Provide assistance to disabled adults. 6. Assist in public relations and publication of employee newsletter.

We are flexible in our volunteer opportunities and are interested in exploring a student's talents and interests. Internships are offered for hours totaling 140-260.
