The Horizon Council is Lee County's Public-Private partnership for economic development. Its 57-member board is comprised of leaders from the public, educational, civic, and private sectors. It is responsible fo guiding the sustained economic health of Southwest Florida. The Horizon Council will address the development of our local workforce. Participation with the working groups offers students a chance to help address our most pressing local economic challenge. |
| Job Description: |
Work as member of one of the Work Groups:
Tuition Benefits Work Group--Student would develop the database of programs, manage the data gathering process, participate in review and development of recommendations, recommend poblicity and communication strategies, and assist in implementing recommendations.
High School Internship Work Group--Studnet would develop database to track existing programs, assist with data gathering, draft componenets of the communication plan to "sell" internship programs, train work group on database use for future tracking, help implement internship programs.
Career Day/Educator Awareness Work Group--Develop the initial survey, research preferred options identified by work group, propose marketing alternatives, coordinate communication plan, and participate in implementation.
Pay Incentives Work Group--Develop database to track local activity, Collect data from Lee County business community, assist with review of successful programs, research educational institution offerings, and propose models to replicate successful programs. |
