The Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department's environmental recreation division has two sites where service learning students are needed. 1. Rotary Park, which is a community center focused on environmental receation/education. It is open to the public, and people can sign up for and attend informational classes/programs at the center. The hiking trail and observation tower are also open from sunrise to sunset, weather permitting. 2. Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve, which has a boardwalk, pier, picnic area, canoe/kayak rentals, and a visitor center. |
| Job Description: |
People are needed for park maintenance,trail-clearing, park clean up,bird identification and counting, delivering flyers, and the occasional special event: In February, the Burrowing Owl Festival; In April and July, large native plant sales; In October, we need actors to scare people at the Haunted Walk at Eco Preserve; In December, the Calusa Festival. |
