The mission of the Economic Development Council of Collier County is to be an effective force in improving the quality of life for all people in Collier County by promoting economic development initiatives which will diversify the economy, create high-wage value-added jobs, increase the average wage, facilitate capital formation, preserve and enhance the natural environment, and enable all county residents to have a meaningful opportunity for upward mobility.
Target industries and geographic areas for job creation efforts include companies located throughout Collier County in the Aviation/Aerospace, Biomedical/Biotechnology, Information/Electronics and Manufacturing Technology industry clusters; as well as all companies within the Immokalee and Everglades City enterprise Zones. |
| Job Description: |
The student will work with industry specialist in various areas of business recruitment and retention/expansion areas. Includes Internet research, committee activities, industry roundtables, events and general office duties, as necessary.
Will learn dynamics of economic development and high wage job retention and creation efforts. |
