The Kleist Health Education Center, located on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus is an educational not-for-profit organization devoted to healthy lifestyles. The program teaches visitors, primarily school children, to respect and care for themselves by making positive health choices. Interactive displays, life-like models and multimedia presentations are all part of our lifesaving curriculum. The Kleist Health Education Center is the only facility of its kind in the state of Florida.

Greet buses, teachers and students that come to the Center. Assist educators in setting up rooms for various programs. Help and assist educators with classroom activities. An opportunity also exists to observe, team teach, and substitute teach any of the Center's elementary school health programs.

Working with our programs puts you in contact not only with the friendly, helpful Center staff, but with 60 new Lee County public schoolchildren every day. This is a unique opportunity that would be highly beneficial for education, theater, and health majors, or anyone who truly enjoys working with children and can serve as a healthy role model and knowledgeable resource person.
