Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

County: Lee
Categories Marketing/PR/Event Planning
Details: The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was founded in 1970 by parents of children with diabetes. Our mission is to find a cure for the disease and its complications through the support of research. In a typical year, 85% of our expenses support research and education about research. Since 1970 JDRF has provided over $500 million for diabetes research, more than any other nonprofit nongovernmental health agency in the world. Each year the Naples/SW Florida branch holds a Walk to Cure Diabetes and a golf tournament. In addition, we keep families and the community informed about current research news and wellness topics. We also have plans for a Harley Ride and bowling tournament.
Job Description: Event planning: Help coordinate the Walk and golf tournament months prior to the events. Volunteer on event day. Marketing/PR: Write and edit press releases and promotional material.
