Blind Services sponsors programs and individualized services for infants, children, youth, adults, and seniors who have problems with eyesight. Services include advocacy, parent education about blindness, skills training for employment, independent living skills training, career counseling, access technology, and computer skills training. Blind Services partners with Visually Impaired Persons of SW FL. We welcome interested students to engage in meaningful and interesting activities that benefit the consumers we serve. |
| Job Description: |
Computer/Web - Assist rehabilitation tech with computer troubleshooting at the office or in consumer home; assist with software installations; prepare graphics and text for DBS District 09 website calendar.
PR - Create posters for health fairs; help build parade float panels; create jingles for public service announcements.
Youth - Contact students age 14-23 via email or phone per counselor direction regarding how they are doing in school using their access technology tools; assist with chaperoning outings such as bowling, mall shopping, movies, a day at the beach. |
