Lee County Animal Services
||Lee County Animal Services provides animal control services throughout Lee County and operates an animal shelter to house stray and abandoned domestic animals. It also administers low-cost spay/neuter programs, educational initiatives, adoption program and rabies and bite case control programs.
||Volunteers can participate in any or all of the following:
Provide assistance in the kennel and cat room assisting potential adopters in selecting a pet; feeding animals; and cleaning kennels, cages and litter pans.
Provide exercise for dogs and socialization for both dogs and cats. The extra attention calms the animals and eases their tension, which makes them more adoptable.
Provide assistance at off-site adoptions (i.e., PETsMART, Pet Fairs, etc.) assisting potential adopters in selecting a pet, handing out information and answering questions, walking dogs, feeding cats, and changing litter pans.
Provide assistance at specific events such as Pet and Safety Fairs, or events where volunteers are needed to man a booth and hand out information and answer questions.
Provide assistance with fundraising for programs through Lee County’s Animal Care Trust.
